Changes have at last taken place at CPAC.  Joel Harstone is no longer Chairman, this task has been taken over by Glen Moores one of the directors.  They appear to have seen the sense of moving the spares department hitherto located 5 miles from a non producing factory into the factory itself. It will save money and make better use of the small workforce still employed. Harstone ,we hope will get on with the job which we all thought he was there for,  that is raising capitol funding to re-start production, something he has singularly failed to do

Another item of interest is that Commander High Performance has acquired another 114B. It is in the States and is about to have the new Lycoming 580 fitted.  The intention is that there will be a “Super Commander” for us all to have a look at.  Jim Richards the engineer leading the re-engining programme  and holder of the STC is also examining the possibility of turbo-normalizing the 580. That promises a 3000fpm climb to 25,000 and a TAS of 190kts.  Watch this space

I now have a second 115 being “big engined” in The States. We hope to have it shipped in a purpose built container in March. The container will be available for hire for anyone wishing to ship rather than fly their aircraft around the world. Given the high insurance premiums for ferry flights we hope this will prove a safer and more cost effective way of getting aircraft over long distances.
